Is Gym a necessity for being healthy?

Going to the gym is a rage these days, not only amongst youngsters but has also become a necessity for males and females of all ages. The very first thing when you think of getting into shape is taking the membership of best gym in your nearby place.

The reason for reliance over the treadmills etc is a lifestyle and shrinking parks. But does that really mean that joining a gym is vital and also you cannot get healthy in the absence of a gym in your vicinity? This is undoubtedly the thought of folks born and living in this century but let us tell you that you do not need a Gym to stay healthy, you can be equally or more healthy otherwise too.

Though fitness and gym go together these days, let me tell you no weighing machine, rowing machines, bench press, leg press machine and treadmills can actually increase lifespan surely.  I justify my statement with an example of a lifespan of long-lived people. To live a really long life, you need to be healthy inside out.

How many hours did the longest-lived man do a workout in the Gym? My reply to the above question is quite obvious.  The folks residing in the blue world where life expectancy is highest do not run on iron machines kept enclosed within air-conditioned walls.

Let us find out what those long-lived people were involved in to live a healthy life:-

  • They lived in pleasing, pollution free and nudging environment that itself was healthy to live in and had only healthier offerings for mankind. Walks in lush green areas itself are rejuvenating and refreshing. A brisk walk in clean and lush green parks is more reviving than few push-ups in luxurious gyms. There have been plenty of cases of getting infected from the gym as gyms are mostly congested and you are more likely to get infected in such cases.

Use of same equipment too isn’t healthy. Whereas walk in an open area aids to keep you away from contagious infections.

  • We all know junk food is not healthy yet they are very much part of our daily carte du jour and then we gym for hours and hours to burn those calories. Just talk to your elders and know the eating choices they had during their time.  Eat less and nutritious food that can be easily digested by your body and a mere walk is enough to reduce the calories. Eat half and walk double to stay healthy throughout your life.
  • Another reason for a long and healthy life is their walking habit. They used to walk a lot even though they had luxury cars to travel at least to nearby places. Walking is the best substitute of cardio exercise that our trainers instruct us to do. Walking for six hours per week lowers the risk of succumbing from cancer, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease and cancer. Those who do not walk at all are open to above health ailments very commonly.

Also, research shows that if you cannot walk for long then walking two hours per week could minimize the risk of disease and assist you to live longer as well as healthy.

  • Jobs full of physical exertion- obviously we cannot recommend you to walk while browsing on your computer. It is literary, not possible as these days 90% of jobs involves mental inputs only and only 10 %  have work full of exertion. Drain sweat from your body whenever and wherever possible as folks doing physical exertion not only had a longer life but still in today’s scenario can have a long life.

Where there is will, there is a way and you find various means to gain movement in your lifestyle.

  • The gym doesn’t entail peace and harmony. A daily walk is an effective tranquilizing pill to your mind and soul which is well evident from the research which shows that daily walk reduces 40 % risk of dementia and Alzheimer.

If long walks are not your cup of tea, then go for smaller walks as per your convenience and strength.  The walk is the panacea of all illness. The conclusion is that our bodies are designed to move which doesn’t mean taking membership of the gym. Research says the natural and consistent movement is more beneficial to our body and soul.
