A 75-year-old woman with a history of chronic lymphocytic leukemia presented with right inguinal lymphadenopathy, fever and night sweats. Results of core biopsy of the dominant lymph node were consistent with CLL without large-cell transformation. Additional diagnostic tests were performed.
The patient was staying in Dubai with her daughter who was working in a Restaurant.
Her mother clinical condition deteriorated over a period of 7 days and she needed admission in the ICU at Rashid Hospital.
As things seem that she will not improve and her clinical status will not improve. The hospital bills were mounting with every new day.
She got in touch with HI Flying team to arrange for economical transportation from Dubai back home to Indonesia.
We visited the patient and assessed her clinical condition and collected all the medical papers on behalf of the patient. We arranged the medical clearance of the patient on the flight. We received the permissions to carry all lifesaving medical equipment including cardiac monitors, pulse oximeter and ventilator.
The patient was picked up from Rashid Hospital on the day of transfer and ground transported to the entry gate at Dubai Airport.
She was taken to the tarmac and uplifted to the Flight.
She was accompanied by a doctor and nurse and had oxygen and all lifesaving equipment to take care of all medical emergencies.
The flight from Dubai to Indonesia was uneventful. She needed BIPAP support on the plane.
On arrival at Indonesia airport, she was offloaded from the flight and taken by ground transport to the hospital in Jakarta -MRCCC Siloam Hospitals Semanggi.
We followed up with the hospital and she recovered in a few months to be discharged home.
